Glenreagh, the oldest village in the Orara Valley of NSW, was settled in 1858 as sheep/cattle run
("Glen Righ") and established as a town in 1883 following a gold discovery at Tallawudjah Creek in 1881. Later anchored by timber and dairying, its history is defined by the 1924–1972 railway connecting it to Dorrigo.
